It's official...the Christmas tree is up, but up ghetto style.
The tree is fake, and I'm proud of it!! The tree is too big for the corner in have it in, so I didn't put on the back branches. So, it's really only the front and sides with branches. Also, I took off the bottom row of branches because they are much too close to the floor. The lights are another story...since the lights are 220v, they aren't like those in the states. Imagine 200ft of wire, with a light every 8 inches. More like a tangled mess. I tried to use only one set, but I was forced to use 1 1/2 sets. 1/2 of the second set is still on the holder thingy on the floor. Once the lights are turned on it looks ok. I can just see it...come home from work one day and the tree has fell over because the front is so heavy!! Ornaments...what ornaments?? The only ornaments we have are the Dr. Seuss silver ones from Burger King last year (yes, I bought them ALL). We do have plenty of candy canes on the tree. The topper...we don't have one!! No star, no angel, or anything else (maybe to complete the ghetto look I can top it with a trucker hat). I'll find some ornaments and a topper this week.
