I wish there was a Starbucks in my portion of the universe. Sure, there are a lot of other things to offer here, but a nothing really compares to a Triple Vente Cappuccino or a Vente Caramel Macchiato. Nothing like getting the day off to a jumpstart with a nice steaming cup of caffeine crack. I really think they should replace the McDonald's near here that opens at 10AM with a Starbucks. I think this very well maybe the ONLY McDonald's in the entire world that has no McMuffins or McGriddles. When I grow up and open my Micky D's, it will be open 24 hours!
Back to the topic at hand...the last time I had a taste of the Golden Nectar (get your mind out of the gutter) was in August when P and I were in London to see the Lion King Musical (the bestest!!!). While strolling though Leicester Square. I felt like I was in heaven (or at least a fly on the wall in the Rams locker room) when I spotted the sign. I didn't care that with the currency rate the Grande Cappuccino cost me almost $8.00!!
Before that, in June, while in Paris, I 'visited' the ONLY Starbucks in the City of Lights. Since Paris is such a happenin' place, you would think there were Starbucks like there are McDonalds~~EVERYWHERE!! After visiting the Mona Lisa (not impressed) at the musée du Louvre we were feverishly hunting for babyGap when we stumbled upon le nectar doré.
So, it's been almost 3 months since I've indulged in a $8.00 cup of Cappuccino. I went through withdrawal, the ticks have stopped, but every once in a while I get a faint whiff of coffee beans, and I hear the shhhhhhhh of the milk steamer.
Maybe we'll venture to Paris for Turkey Day~~for Starbucks and babyGap (NOT THE MONA LISA!).
